Bad day for Carlos Sainz and Lucas Cruz (Ford Raptor T1+) in the second and long stage of about a thousand kilometers timed, which is disputed over two days. After a good start of the day, on a cut dune, they suffered a rollover that left the Ford quite damaged. After receiving help from their teammate Mitchell Guthrie, they managed to get back on the road.

With several damages to the bodywork, visibility was reduced due to the broken front window and the engine began to overheat. Despite the difficulties, they managed to reach the bivouac where they will spend the night, losing almost an hour, to continue the stage the next day in the morning.

Carlos Sainz: “Today was quite a complicated stage. After overturning in a cut dune, we were able to continue thanks to the help of our teammate Mitchell. But then we had more problems, the car was overheating, we couldn’t see well because of the broken glass and we got a puncture. The day went from bad to worse.
