Carlos Sainz and Lucas Cruz (Ford Raptor) have finished in fifth place in the South African Safari Rally, which today played its fifth and final stage. The Ford Raptor and the Spanish pair demonstrated again their speed in a complicated test, in which they continued working on the evolution of the vehicle.

In today’s stage, Carlos finished fifth, 2:48 behind the winner, Nasser Al-Attiyah, after receiving a two-minute penalty. In the overall standings, Carlos and Lucas finished fifth, 5:15 behind the winner.

Carlos Sainz: “Rally completed. They have been intense days, but we have also enjoyed them. Today we had a good day, a pity about the penalty at the end. Overall, happy to be back after the break since the Dakar and to have regained this pace. It’s time to keep working with the team.
