The accident suffered yesterday by the Red Bull drivers damaged the safety arch of their Ford Raptor T1+. Despite the team’s assurances that the safety bars were perfectly repairable, they were not authorized to start tomorrow’s stage, forcing them to withdraw.<\/p>\n
Carlos Sainz: <\/strong>“After yesterday’s accident, we made it to the bivouac and today we also drove the car to the finish line. However, when we arrived at the assistance and checked the car in detail, it was detected that one of the anti-roll bars was very very slightly bent. Although the team provided every assurance to the FIA that it was simple to repair, they failed to convince them and we have been forced to return home.” <\/em><\/p>\n “We already knew this year would be a very complicated race, but a 48-hour stage on the second day has made a big sieve. This year it was our turn, but I’m sure the organization will have time to analyze everything as best as possible.”<\/p>\n “For my part, I am very disappointed because going home on the third day of the race, after a year of preparation and testing with this car and this project, is really frustrating. Not being able to continue to help the team and my teammates and learn from this experience is a big disappointment.
